【マラウイ通信/Malawi letter】～ マラウイからの贈り物/Return gifts to Japanese sponsors

現在当会スタッフの一人がアフリカのマラウイ共和国にて、2015年2月から青年海外協力隊の一員として地域の生活改善に取り組んでいます。当会ではその活動やマラウイ支援の一助になるべく、2015年6月にマラウイ・ファンドを設立しました。

本日は、いつもマラウイ・ファンドをご支援くださっている方々へ、マラウイの子どもたちが贈り物を届けたとの報告がありましたのでご紹介いたします。

先日、マラウイ・ファンドのご支援者様へマラウイの子どもたちからの贈り物を届けました。

贈り物は昨年マラウイ・ファンドで支援した小学校の子どもたちが描いた絵とメッセージでした。この学校では、今まで１つの色鉛筆セットを遠慮しながら皆で共有していましたが、今回寄贈した画材のおかげで、多くの生徒が思いっきり自由に絵を描けるようになりました。

児童Tは「絵が描くことが大好きなので、もっともっと上手になりたい。」と意気込んでいました。

“Return gifts to Japanese sponsors”

We delivered the gifts from Malawian primary school students to Japanese sponsors of Malawi Fund.

The gifts were the students’ paintings used by the drawing materials donated by Malawi Fund last year. That school had only 1 colored pencil set so that the students had to share it with 40 students in a class before. However, after they have got the adequate drawing materials from Malawi Fund, they have felt free to draw whenever they want.

Student T told us “I love drawing and would like to improve my skills in this art club.” She has a high motivation for drawing in her future.

This sponsor is the owner of a coffee shop in Sizuoka prefecture in Japan. Their shop sells Malawian coffee and the beans both at the shop and online.
